They are looking for an intermediate or senior AI Programmer to join the team and help them develop their next upcoming AAA game!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate and applies strong problem-solving and debugging skills in C++.
  • Write clean, professional, well commented and maintainable code.
  • Show good knowledge of mathematics for 3d game development.
  • Understand a large set of the many components that makes up a modern video game and show capabilities of independently take on tasks.
  • Experience from at least one or two shipped AAA game productions.
  • Experience using Havok products, physics, AI.
  • Experience working with AI Finite-state machine systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and implement features in C/C++, that is CPU, GPU and memory efficient, with an eye to a quality end-user experience.
  • Develop, extend and debug AI, tools, physics, animation, rendering, UI and gameplay code while respecting platform and design constraints, with focus on your area of expertise
  • Collaborate well with programmers and other disciplines involved in the day to day work.
  • Review code written by programmers across the studio and collaborate with them to improve code quality
  • Help mentoring less experienced team members.
  • If required, debug, modify, extend or use the tools pipeline as necessary.
  • Construct solutions for unforeseen design problems in a timely manner.
  • Proactively provides suggestions on how to utilize new technologies and tools and implement them into the workflow.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to code both high-level systems and low-level performance tweaks using C/C++.
  • Strong understanding of transforming design requests into working features.
  • Great game design knowledge to complement design specs to produce gratifying experiences.
  • Keen desire to join a brand-new team and project.
  • Superb background, having worked on at least one shipped AAA games as a Senior or Lead gameplay programmer.
  • Professional experience and deep understanding of gameplay and AI systems.
  • Professional experience with Unreal Engine in a modern console environment is a bonus.
  • Ability to work in highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, and iterative environment.
  • Strong appreciation and understanding of the development processes, workflows, and tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working alongside designers to develop a structure to assist rapid prototyping while keeping code stability.
  • Harmonise with engine coders to define the programming environment for development phases.
  • Represent and champion the gameplay code to all other parties.
  • Coordinate and complement work from system designers.
  • Coordinate with gameplay coders establishing code guidelines, quality goals and performance budgets.
  • Work alongside with the design teams to make sure they have the most efficient tools.
  • Evaluate, validate, and integrate feedback from the team and external user testing.
  • Assist the development of a high-quality gameplay programming team by being involved in recruitment process.
  • Mentor coders to foster a continuous learning environment.
  • Offer meaningful feedback to your team through team meetings, one on one sessions and 360 feedback.
