VFX Lighting TD – South – Television & Film

Our client is opening the doors of their brand-new Didcot Film and TV Studios and are looking for an experienced FX TD.

With projects based on classic IPs, this is an opportunity to be working on some brand-new film and TV projects and be one of the first members of the new VFX team.

This role can be a full-time permanent role based in-house at the Didcot Studio or Short-term in-house contract.


  • Look-development of CG assets to be used across shots and sequences
  • Light and render of realistic CG elements to integrate with the plate.
  • Build and support light rigs, shading setups and composites to be used by other lighters
  • Develop shot and render passes as needed in collaboration with compositing department
  • Build and support the lighting and rendering pipeline for shots and sequences in collaboration with pipeline team.
  • Mentor junior – mid level lighting artist to standardised the output of the quality across the team.


  • Extensive experience required in visual effects or cinematic.
  • Extensive understanding of techniques and technologies related to CG rendering and look development
  • Strong computer programming abilities, especially with Python
  • Having ability of building or improving lighting pipeline/tools
  • Experience working with Houdini, Renderman, and Redshift
  • Experience working or have experimented with a real-time engine lighting technical like Unreal
