Our client is looking for a smart, driven and creative UX Designer to join them to work on an ambitious unannounced project.

The Position
As a UX Designer, you will work closely with the Lead UI/UX Artist to fulfill the vision of the game, while collaborating with the other cross-discipline team members to deliver an experience that meets the quality expectations of the product. 

You will be responsible for the interactive design, creating a smooth, accessible and meaningful player experience. Solving complex problems, that will require you to plan many iterations ahead, to deliver an intuitive and consistent experience on an ever evolving product. 

To achieve this you’ll need a comprehensive understanding of the current state of UX in video games, fluent with both mouse and pad inputs, and be able to proficiently apply that knowledge via strong technical skills in Flash or HTML. With a flair for motion graphics and animation you will help bring the experience to life in a tactile and visually appealing way. 

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive games industry experience working on UX / UI Design, on a published PC or console game, ideally including at least one open-world title.
  • Proficiency in UX, interface, and interaction design including the creation of wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, personas, journey maps, and other UX tools.
  • The ability to iteratively design and test interfaces and interactions to make them simple and intuitive across both mouse and pad inputs.
  • Strong Photoshop, Flash, HTML5 & Javascript skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. 

Desired Qualifications

  • The ability to work closely with other disciplines, effectively utilising constructive feedback for iterative design purposes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of open world game design, with familiarity of inventory, codex and map systems within the genre.
  • Proficiency with design, mock-up or prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Omnigraffle, Affinity Designer, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Animate or Coherent Gameface.
