Unity Game Developer – Casual / F2P Games – London

Location: London, UK Salary: Negotiable

Job ID: # Posted: 2 years ago

Our client is a leading mobile games studio based in central London, developing highly successful games. Their philosophy is small teams can create amazingly successful games… as long as they have the best talent! They’ve all had incredible experiences in developing games (particularly casual and free-to-play), both on browsers and mobiles. They’re always on the look out for new additions to the team.

They have got a great new studio on Haymarket. It’s fun, but their ambition is serious – to make the most successful, genre-leading games for mobile and tablet devices. It’s hard work, but incredibly rewarding. They also have some of the most high profile backers in the world and they’re continually looking to build and sustain the best team.

As Game Developer you will create fun and engaging mobile games, available for multiple platforms, and played by millions of players around the world. You will work as part of a small team to develop, test and maintain games, game features, and any development tools required. You will write clean and maintainable code for cross-platform mobile games in C# using the Unity engine, working in all phases of the development lifecycle with a focus on efficient and iterative coding.

As part of an expert engineering team with a coherent development approach and high level of technical quality, you will also work closely with non-engineers to ensure that all aspects of games are of a high quality for end users, creating tools, plugins and shared libraries to streamline development, in Java and other languages.

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience developing games on constrained platforms, e.g. mobile, web browser
  • Professional experience making great games using the Unity engine and C# coding
  • Excellent understanding of object oriented programming, algorithms and data-driven design
  • Passion for developing popular games with high production values
  • Software craftsperson with a diligent programming mentality and zero tolerance for bugs
  • Experience and appreciation of automated software testing
  • Self-driven and excel at completing tasks in a minimally supervised environment
  • Able to communicate ideas from abstract game features to complex technical designs
  • Comfortable working in a small team on high impact features
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related subject
