OPM are excited to be working with one of the UK’s most prolific and secure independent game developers, with 3 UK studios now and many fantastic new opportunities on the horizon.

Founded in 2003, this successful developer has had a string of successful titles across all gaming platforms for partners that include Microsoft, SEGA, Sony and many more. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and experienced programmer with an interest in developing in-game and frontend UI for AAA games projects for their recently acquired Newcastle studio.

As UI Programmer, you will work with UI designers to implement, iterate and polish UI features, create and extend UI tools as appropriate. You will also assist project managers with estimation and task scheduling and help the UI designers and UI team to understand the engineering aspects of their designs. They are planning on 2018 being their biggest year so watch this space!

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Professional C++ programming experience in the video games industry.
  • Previous UI programming experience working on multiple platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of programming design patterns and recognition of programming standards.
  • Knowledge of current trends in graphic design and user interface design.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with other programming and design teams.
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • A passion for the video games industry.
