OPM are proud to be working with a globally recognised games developer based in Paris.

The company are responsible for some of the most successful and well-known IPs in the Games Industry. Currently looking for a Technical Level Designer to join the team on a new project ambitious project.

The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying project requirements, implementation of efficient methods and tools, acting as the point of contact for all technical matters for Level Designers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional studio experience, having shipped at least AAA games, preferably open world.
  • Professional experience leading a team.
  • Professional experience in a co-development studio will be appreciated.
  • Demonstrable experience in level design with an enthusiasm for programming.
  • Ability to write technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong English language skills, and able to write technical documents in English.
  • Ability to anticipate design issues.
  • Understanding of terraforming, world building tools and different game engines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define the technical requirements of the team, in order to realise the creative vision, by validating the features of the game and assessing its viability at the technical level.
  • Ensuring the best tools possible in collaboration with the programming team and other technical departments of the project to facilitate the work of level designers.
  • Write documentation related to the technical process (pipeline) to determine the vision of the best working methods and data structure in order to standardise the workflow and ensuring the validity and data integrity.
  • Mentor teams in technical methods and processes and ensure the development of their skills.
  • Keep on top of new technical developments in order to use these developments to the project.
  • Plan work accordingly thinking about the scope of each task to establish a compromise between the desired quality and the delivery capacity.
  • Ensure the team's contribution to optimisation and debugging in order to resolve the level design problems detected.
