Our client is an independently-owned studio on the outskirts of London, and they’re all about crafting engaging multiplayer experiences. They’re now expanding the team for exciting new projects on PC and console, and are looking for superstars to help us make this happen.


 The Role

As Technical Lead, you will oversee all the technological developments of an exciting new IP. Your responsibilities will span across the whole programming team for the project, overseeing the day to day development of the game while liaising with production and reporting to the studios’ technical leadership to establish and maintain strategic technical direction.
In charge of all technical aspects of the game, you will work closely with your programming area leads, as well as with the game design, level design, art and production teams, and act as the main technical point of contact for the project.


 You will

  • Coordinate development efforts of various programming teams (gameplay, online services, AI, engine…)
  • Work with leads of other disciplines (Game Design, UI/UX, Level Design, Production) to define and maintain the roadmap
  • Make strategical decisions regarding software architecture and tech stack choices
  • Inspire and mentor a large team of programmers
  • Be the key contact point for technical discussions with business partners
  • Co-ordinate technical planning, task scheduling and risk management with production
  • Drive recruitment of technical talent for the project


 Essential Skills and Experience

  • Several years of experience in computer games, with several released titles
  • Prior experience as Lead Programmer on a large project
  • Experience in leadership and management of a large team of engineers
  • Experience with at least one online game with a strong server-side component
  • Excellent communication skills


 Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of modern server architectures
  • Experience working on a live game with regular updates
