Technical Artist – South East (UK) – £DOE – AAA Games

My client is an amazing developer of top quality console, PC and mobile games with a rich heritage in the UK games industry since the late ‘80s! They are now in a position to expand their team and we are looking for a highly creative team player and problem solver who is actively engaged with the latest technologies.

 

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Strong visual awareness and artistic ability
  • Fluent in cutting edge art authoring techniques and processes
  • Practical experience and a strong comprehension of PBR
  • Developed understanding of contemporary shader features and creation workflow
  • Expert knowledge of 3DS Max
  • Practical experience of Post Effects – tone mapping, filtering, colour grading etc.
  • One or more published AAA titles in a tech art capacity
  • Willingness to engage with and master proprietary tools and systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in all directions
  • Passion for Sci-fi and the Halo universe
  • Desirable Skills Experience and Knowledge
  • Working Knowledge of Substance (designer and painter)
  • Working knowledge of Max/Mel scripting, HLSL/GLSL programing, C#, JavaScript a bonus
  • Working knowledge of Vray
  • Working Knowledge of Zbrush

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Enhancing visual quality and performance
  • Researching and prototyping new techniques, materials, assets, effects etc.
  • Able to collaborate effectively to develop new features, processes and pipelines
  • Proactive in communicating progress and solving problems
  • Ensuring that assets produced by the art department are technically appropriate and ‘on spec’
  • Identifying performance optimisations and pinpointing areas for improvement
