Technical Artist – Ireland – Permanent Contract – F2P MMO Games

Location: Dublin, Ireland Salary: Negotiable

Job ID: # Posted: 6 years ago

Digit Games

My client is Ireland’s largest games developer and the creator of free-to-play strategy MMO games. Their first game has grossed well into the seven figures since launching late 2014. They are now developing their second title, based on a phenomenal IP, launching this year!

We are looking for a highly ambitious and experienced Technical Artist, who is passionate and self-driven about creating the best possible visual art for mobile devices using Unity technology.

  • Experienced in producing real-time 3D content using Maya and Unity (or comparable technologies)
  • Maya Python Scripting Experience
  • Experienced and passionate about render tricks, shader tricks, LOD techniques etc.
  • A solid understanding of what can create FPS drops and how to identify those issues
  • Ability to prototype shaders (e.g. using Shader Forge) and visual effects
  • Python and C# programming experience
  • Solid math skills

  • Work with the art team to push the visual quality of all their games on both ends: for high-end mobile devices as well for low-end mobile devices
  • Work with the engineers to define constraints and approaches for real-time 3d content
  • Profile 3D scenes to identify bottlenecks and wasteful usage of GPU and CPU usage
  • Work with QA and Test-Automation to understand on what key mobiles devices a scene is not running well enough
  • Experiment and explore visual real-time approaches including shading and visual effects
  • Work on content pipelines and validation tools

To ensure a speedy application please email your up to date CV and demo reel link
