Our client is looking for a Technical Artist to join their team in Guildford.


The Technical Artist acts as a bridge between the artists and engineers. They are considered part of the Physics Engineering team and work closely with engineers, Development Directors and other Technical Artists on all titles.


They are looking for a Technical Artist that is excited to work in an R & D role with their Engineers on cutting edge Physics features. The Technical Artists will provide technical insight and support the team to produce great content and demos using the latest Frostbite features. This role will give you the chance shape the future of the Engine!


Candidates can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science background; however, they must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science.




  • Provide creative and technical problem solving with a view to enabling efficient quality content for new and existing Physics and AI technology in Frostbite.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain tools, workflows, and pipelines driven to offer incredible production capability and efficiency
  • Proactive in problem identification and developing and delivering solutions
  • Define and estimate tasks in a well-organized manner
  • Document and demonstrate workflows, technical processes and tools.
  • Interact and collaborate with the key client stakeholders across our team and EA (Art, Programming, Production, etc.)



  • An aptitude for problem solving, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues.
  • A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems; the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
  • A passion for games, great user experiences and making an impact!
  • Expert knowledge of a 2D and 3D art packages: Maya/Photoshop required. Houdini/Substance Designer a bonus.
  • Experience scripting in Python or C#, C++ is a bonus (but not required).
  • Extensive cinematic/games production experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
  • Highly adept at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
