OPM are working with a global studio looking for an experienced engineer to join the R&D department to work on tracking systems and drivers for a VR related project in their London offices.
This role will be as part of a small, highly focused team but one that will be working closely with other technical teams within R&D. The successful applicant will therefore need good collaboration skills as well as being highly self-motivated with an ability to show initiative.
Job summary:
The successful applicant will work on project aiding in the design, development and integration of its associated deliverables including documentation.
Responsibilities:
Development and integration of tools, APIs and device drivers for VR including image processing and tracking using multiple sensor data.
Ensuring accuracy and robustness of systems through testing and validation.
Profiling and optimising code to meet performance requirements.
Working closely with the technical lead and other members of the project team within the R&D department to develop and integrate code to deliver the project.
Keeping implementation on target to meet tight schedules
Providing innovative solutions to technical problems they may encounter during the project
Essential skills:
Strong technical background in Computer Science, educated to degree level or higher, or with equivalent experience
Experience of programming in C/C++
Proficient in maths and 3D geometry
Experience of working with Virtual Reality
Experience of 3D graphics and shader programming on modern GPUs using DirectX or equivalent.
Understanding of computer architecture and optimisation techniques on modern CPUs and GPUs
Experience of CPU SIMD programming and intrinsics.
Experience of Image processing.
Experience of version control systems: e.g. Perforce, SVN, Git etc.
Able to get up to speed quickly with existing code bases
Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team.
Advantageous skills:
Experience in Computer vision
Experience of console development
Experience of PC development with DX12 or Vulkan
Experience of Device driver development
Experience with Stereoscopic camera systems.
Experience of multi-sensor fusion tracking systems.
Experience of working with Unreal engine.
Ability to adapt quickly in an agile environment
