OPM’s client, a well-known games development studio, currently growing their team in London to lead development on a new and highly ambitious MMORPG.

They are currently seeking a talented and experienced Senior Technical Artist with significant Houdini experience to join the team.

This is an important position at the centre of our R&D efforts to design a new process to create amazing maps with a group of next generation tools.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a deep passion for creating beautiful, interactive game environments. Working closely with key stakeholders from the art, graphics, and design teams, you will be responsible for implementing the procedural tools and techniques to create environments that support gameplay requirements and translate into stunning levels.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create system to populate landscapes with assets according to art directed rules sets
  • Create tools for generating dynamic assets for landscapes
  • Research and develop new procedural tools with Houdini
  • Work with the multiple departments to hit creative and performance requirements
  • Produce Houdini digital assets for the creation pipeline
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop appropriate solutions
  • Work with code and technical artists to help refine the asset pipeline

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong experience with SideFX Houdini and procedural content generation
  • Experience working with Vex language
  • Ability to analyse problems and develop solutions
  • Ability to identify and work within technical constraints
  • Ability to prioritise own tasks and work with minimum supervision
  • Experience making tools or systems for Unreal Engine or Unity
  • Experience of working with game creation pipelines
  • Knowledge of coding languages such as C# and C++
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya or equivalent
