My client is seeking a creative and talented PR Professional with a passion for video games and the videogame industry to help maximise the potential of their products in the marketplace by driving innovative, consistent and effective global PR campaigns, in conjunction with a network of external agencies and development talent, as well as internal studio teams.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in video games PR as well as strong relationships with UK and international media. The candidate will be up to date with marketing trends and have a strong passion for the industry. Knowledge the indie game scene is ideal.

Key Responsibilities;

• Work closely with the Head of Communications to create and implement first-class global PR and event plans that are bespoke to each product
• Line-management and mentorship of the PR team, helping them to reach their full potential and deliver results in line with business requirements
• Work closely with PR colleagues and other teams within the marketing department to ensure that PR efforts are coordinated, integrated and aligned
• Help raise the studios profile in the videogame industry globally via an effective corporate communications strategy
• Provide effective, timely crisis communications when required
• Establish/maintain strong relationships with both UK and international media
• Regularly communicate with the brand and community teams
• Take part in weekly product meetings with the marketing teams and development studios
• Recognise the changes in media landscape, the differences in media in other territories and adapt PR strategy to suit media needs
• Write and coordinate translation of press materials as required; creation, control and dissemination of press releases, fact sheets, art assets; development of story angles and creation of content that will resonate with the target media
• Ensure that product knowledge is second to none, keeping up-to-date with game builds
• Manage and implement key activities related to all beats of a product launch from announcement through sustain activity to launch and lifecycle
• Regularly meet with press to present products, discuss release calendars and collaborate ideas
• Work with both internal and external dev teams, presenting and developing ideas alongside them
• Oversee efficient tracking and logging of PR activity on allocated titles, including announcements, features, previews, reviews
• Manage time effectively taking part in daily calls/meetings and providing weekly updates to the Head of Communications
• Prepare extensive and comprehensive reports on PR coverage and activities to present both internally and externally
• Contribute to campaign postmortems, providing a full and detailed analyses of any PR activities
• Organise and attend UK and international media tours, trade shows and other events
• Track any PR-specific budgets
• Line-management of external agencies as required
• Take part in any live or taped media interviews or event-based live streams

Skills & experience required:

• A passion for videogames and the videogames industry
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a PR Manager role within the video games industry
• A proven track record in delivering first-class communications campaigns for videogames
• An extensive network of UK and international media contacts
• Experience of corporate PR and crisis communications
• Experience of working in a multi-territory or global capacity
• Excellent time management and the ability to motivate themselves
• Exemplary writing skills and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas
• Knowledge of games industry trends and media trends
• Experience of managing a team
• A+ presentation skills to demo products to an external audience.
