Senior Network Programmer – Sports Games – Guildford, UK

OPM are proud to be working with independent mobile games developer, aiming to develop high quality sports titles based in Guildford.

They are seeking a Senior Network Programmer who is enthusiastic and eager to be deeply involved in the development of a quality sports games.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrable experience for the network development on at least 1 mobile game.
• Strong understanding of C/C++ programming languages.
• Strong understanding of game technology principles, the main gaming platforms, and the requirements needed to develop software on them.
• Strong knowledge and experience with the full network stack from low-level UDP through to simple REST services.
• Good ability to work independently and as part of a team.

RESPONSBILITIES:

• Development of their network and online components on a game project.
• Advising gameplay teams and evangelizing good quality network processes.
• Contribute to all network layers on server and client, not just hand off at the transport layer.
• Give advice and suggestions for improving the development process.

DESIRED SKILLS (good to have):

• Experience with Unity 3D.
• Experience with Net Core or Mono.
• Experience with Playfab.
• Experience with service Fabric or Kubernetes.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Jenkins or Team City.
