OPM are excited to be working with this AAA games company. The original studios were founded in 2003 and develops games using its proprietary technology, enabling huge open worlds filled with emergent gameplay. They have recently opened their third studio in the beautiful Malmö, Sweden. The Malmö studio will focus on development of current and future IPs, relatively small and flexible projects which rest on a solid foundation of AAA production values.
They are now looking for a senior programmer to lead the multiplayer development of their newest open world multiplayer game. They have a long history of creating some of the most immersive, playful and procedural game worlds in the industry. Their next set of titles they are bringing these worlds to life in multiplayer environments and this is where you come in.
As Senior Multiplayer Programmer, you will work within a small cross-discipline team implementing, extending and supporting game modes and other features for both the single player and multiplayer parts of the game. As with most multiplayer development, a keen sense of fun gameplay and a sense for what gives the perfect "feeling" are both key aspects for this role.
As a Senior, you will be given the opportunity to strongly influence the technical roadmap when they expand their games and core technology into true open world multiplayer. The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience working as a gameplay/generalist programmer on multiplayer games. You will be a very important part of the development team it is crucial that you enjoy working closely with designers and artists as well as having a strong passion for playing multiplayer games.
Required Skills:
• Strong C/C++ coding skills
• A strong passion for multiplayer games
• A keen sense of fun gameplay
• Experience with implementing multiplayer in multiple released games
• Familiarity with animation, physics and gameplay code in general
• Experience from working with the platform specific services and APIs available for online presence, e.g. PSN, Xbox Live, steam
