Our client is a globally successful console and PC game company based in Espoo, Finland. This AAA studio is known for creating cinematic blockbuster action games that break media boundaries, pushing the limits of 3D character technology, storytelling and visual effects.

They are on the lookout for a Senior Lighting Artist to elevate the quality of their environments, by uniting your artistic talents and technical aptitude with knowledge on scripting and player guidance.

You will be working closely with their Art Director and production teams in designing and implementing lighting, playing a key role in creating the overall aesthetics for their upcoming titles by setting up lighting from levels to cinematics and characters.


  • Contribute in environment production by setting up the lighting while ascertaining performance stays within the agreed budget.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in rendering technology and work together with the rendering and tools team to enhance their proprietary technology.
  • Keeping artistic style consistent for the game and assist with finding and maintaining the vision for the levels.
  • Provide time estimations for tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Ensure that consistent communication is maintained, to guarantee the quality of the game.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior members in the use of good lighting techniques.


  • A portfolio of professional work as a Senior Lighting Artist for first or third person titles.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of lighting techniques.
  • Solid experience in lighting photorealistic environments and characters.
  • Proficient with Maya, 3DS Max or other 3D software packages.
  • Great understanding of physically based rendering.
  • Good ability to quickly learn new programs and tool chains.
  • Strong English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take criticism from other team members and channel it into improving the product.
