Senior Level Designer – London, UK – AAA Games

One Player Missions client is looking for a Senior Level Designer to join their game development team. They are embarking on a new online tactical sci-fi shooter project.

The successful candidate will capable of making a significant contribution to the game. You’ll collaborate closely with art and design teams, crafting captivating worlds and engaging challenges. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in constructing multiplayer maps and adjusting encounters for first-person shooters.
• Expertise in designing maps for open-world and sandbox games.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine’s world-building tools.
• Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints.
• Demonstrable experience mentoring junior level designers.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Thrive in a team setting, both giving and receiving constructive critiques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the universe of the game in question.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and build compelling multiplayer maps for a sci-fi shooter.
• Collaborate with art and design teams, integrating core game mechanics.
• Use feedback from playtesting to refine and optimise the player experience.
• Mentor junior designers, guiding them to uphold quality standards.
• Prototype new content and improve existing maps in Unreal Engine.
• Adjust and balance gameplay as new mechanics are introduced.
