OPM’s client is a record-breaking indie studio based in Nice, France. They are currently seeking a Senior Technical Animator to join development on their new title. The role will involve developing tools to be used daily by the animation team, as well as supporting pre-existing tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive professional experience as a Technical Animator
• Games industry experience, having shipped at least one title on a major platform
• Mel/Python expertise
• Understanding of Maya and/or MotionBuilder
• Experience creating and implementing efficient character/weapon/vehicle rigs.
• Character skinning and physics simulation setup

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with animators and other TA/TDs to maintain and enhance their proprietary animation tools
• Design and support tools to improve our animation creation/editing workflows
• Cooperate with other team disciplines, primarily with animation and animation code
• Bring creativity and solutions to technical challenges throughout the production cycle, from content creation through to the game
• Demonstrate originality and technical capability within the constraints of PC development
• Support character artists with the skinning and rigging of characters, this includes setups for facial animation
• Mentoring others to help improve their Maya/MotionBuilder skills

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Knowledge of facial rigging
• Understanding of other scripting and programming languages such as Maxscript, C# / C++
• Knowledge of CryEngine or similar engine
