OPM are representing candidates to a leading free-to-play, online games development studio in Germany.

Their portfolio includes both Web and  Mobile Games entertaining millions of users worldwide.

Currently looking for a Senior Java Server Developer you will work in an inter-disciplinary product team on successful revenue-generating live games or on tools for game development.

You will use your own ideas and extensive experience to develop game logic and ensure that thousands of players can play together simultaneously on one server.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Collaborate on the development of innovative new game ideas in interdisciplinary and international teams

Devise and implement game logic

Design interfaces for other high availability systems (DWH, payment)

Analyse and optimize high-performance and high-traffic systems

Coordinate and carry out complex projects involving adjacent departments

Observe company quality standards and guarantee code quality

Identify problems, create solution proposals and support planning the measures to implement them

Develop and take responsibility for process-optimizing workflows

Share knowledge, and help and mentor colleagues

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Very skilled at OOP, design patterns, databases (SQL), multi-threading and data structures

Excellent knowledge of the Java memory model

Experience with continuous integration, agile development, Linux, run-time and storage optimization and with developing client-server applications

Experience with project planning and a leadership role is a plus

A high level of initiative, creativity, and independence

Enthusiastic about working in multi-disciplinary teams and passionate about games

Excellent written and spoken English. German is a plus

A completed degree in IT or a comparable course is desirable
