Senior Games Designer – France – Salary Neg – F2P Games

OPM are working closely with a global developer/publisher seeking an experienced Senior Games Designer to assist shape the future of the global headquarters. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the most talented developers that have worked on hit games and franchises.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify and design fun and immersive gameplay mechanics, features and story;
  • Review deliverables (design documents, game builds) from other game teams at specific milestones to ensure the highest quality
  • Launch actions to solve specific problems on each game: gameplay, flow, level design, accessibility, economics, etc.
  • Understand the specificities of mobile game design and ensure that the recommendations given to the teams are respected (F2P model, game session time, accessibility, etc.)
  • Follow games projects from pre -production to post- release updates
  • Work closely with the Producers and Leads and ensure good communication
  • Present and promote design solutions effectively to peers and executive management
  • Engage in the ideation process and produce game pitchs and prototypes for new and existing IPs within a multi-disciplinary HQ production team

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years of working as a Game Designer including experiences on iPhone/iPad, mobile games, or other platforms (PC, DS, Wii, PSP, Xbox etc.);
  • Having shipped at least 1 successful F2P game title as Game Designer or creative producer.
  • Strong knowledge of Game Design basic rules (gameplay, learning curve, directing, difficulty balancing, pacing, reward, accessibility);
  • Extensive gaming culture, on all types of platforms (mobile, consoles, etc.) and for all types of audiences;
  • Ability to illustrate ideas via standard tools like Photoshop, Flash, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max, etc. ;
  • Capacity to prototype demonstrable gameplay prototypes.
  • Ability to convey ideas and to provide clear formalization of complex concepts;
  • High visual creativity and passion for developing video games;
  • Ability to communicate feedbacks to development teams and involve yourself in this network of remote teams.
  • Efficient work under pressure and strict deadlines;
  • Excellent English spoken and read/written (French would prove an advantage)
