My client, an industry leading AAA game developer, is looking for a Senior RPG Gameplay Designer who will be responsible for the design and balance of RPG gameplay in their new and exciting open world project.

This Senior Gameplay Designer’s main task will be to create and modify these systems in order to create a product of the highest quality. They will meet the studio’s standard whilst maintaining their global reputation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Design Director, Lead Gameplay Designer and other Designers to build and maintain the vision for the key RPG gameplay systems
  • Create mathematical solutions for complex RPG systems (economy, progression, loot etc.) to ensure a well-balanced RPG experience for players
  • Design, prototype and work with other disciplines to create compelling gameplay loops at both a macro and micro level
  • Work with level, quest and sandbox Designers to ensure RPG systems are utilized effectively
  • Balance RPG Game Systems throughout production
  • Create and maintain design documentation
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team
  • Follow and maintain pipelines and technical requirements

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience within game develop within a similar role
  • Experience with game editors and game design tools
  • Excellent mathematic and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of both classic pen and paper RPGs and video game RPGs
  • Both analytic and creative thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of English language
  • One shipped RPG title under your belt will be a great advantage
