Based in Newcastle, our client is an immersive media company, focused on creating the next generation of virtual worlds and entertainment for VR/AR/MR. With unique production capabilities and state-of-the-art 3D/4D capture facilities across their two specialist studios, they are busy working on exciting original games, projects and R&D collaborations.

They have invested in cutting edge production facilities and processes that open exciting new creative possibilities for the next generation of immersive content. As experts in real-time engine development (Unreal and Unity), they are continually improving the possibilities across performance, realism and resolution.

The team love to bring original and amazing ideas to life to create extraordinary experiences and are seeking a like-minded Senior Developer who can bring knowledge and experience to be a guiding voice for the future of their development team. As a Senior, you will perform team code reviews and provide feedback and advice to junior developers. You will be working on gameplay, AI, physics, UI and turning creative design briefs into practical technical development plans.

Technical Skills and Experience:  

  • Advanced C++/C# programming skills with knowledge of best practice programming patterns.
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable, modular and portable code.
  • Experience with Unity C# development and/or Unreal Engine C++ development.
  • Proven professional experience in game development, with shipped titles.
  • Multiplatform development experience such as VR, AR, PC, console, mobile and/or web.
  • Capability to manage and direct a team of game developers and track their progress against schedule.
  • Passion for video games, films and other creative mediums.
  • Familiarity with virtual reality head mounted displays and motion controllers desirable but not essential.
