OPM have partnered with an industry leading developer, setting the world alight with their popular online game enjoyed my millions around the world! An Amsterdam-based company, they are seeking an experienced engine programmer to join their new team. The perfect candidate will work on new, potentially proprietary technology or broadening the existing engine and middleware.

This position requires taking on a broad variety of tasks, finding customised solutions, discussing complex issues at differing levels of abstraction. You will collaborate in making plans and driving them to completion. You will write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive professional programming experience.
  • Proficient with C/C++.
  • Excellent software design and architecture skills (DOD, ECS).
  • Proficient in algorithm design, understanding of complexity, and software architecture design.
  • Ability to, prioritise and re-evaluate approaches in favour of better solutions.
  • Strong understanding of maths.
  • Experience integrating or adapting third party technology.
  • Brilliant verbal and written English skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or comparable) in a related field or equivalent experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research, define, extend, and maintain processes, and workflows.
  • Design software architecture meeting requirements, detect problems, determine best solution, evaluate existing solutions or implement custom solutions.
  • Determine priorities.
  • Implement breadth-first, for stability, flexibility and speed.
  • Develop in a DOD way.
  • Strive to design software for scalability, limited only by hardware capabilities.
  • Participate in discussions about the interaction between code, content creation, and Q/A.
  • Design for one approach covering many requirements.
  • Identify and convey risks and issues.
  • Guide, and support programmers of all levels.
  • Eagerness to unblock colleagues by picking up unfamiliar tasks.

DESIRED:

  • AAA console development experience.
  • Programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with GPGPU.
  • Experience with an array of current game engines and tools.
  • Experience in developing proprietary, real-time, interactive, 3D simulation systems.
