Senior Cinematic Animator – London, UK – 2yr Contract – AAA Action Game

This prestigious UK developer has an impressive back catalogue of action-packed console and PC games, which have won numerous awards and reached both commercial and critical acclaim. Work is well underway with a new unannounced AAA project and their looking for an experienced Senior Cinematic Animator who is ready for the challenges of producing world class game cinematics.


  • Cinematic Animation Demo Reel
  • Excellent MotionBuilder knowledge and experience.
  • Extensive Motion Capture experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of editing software (Premiere/After Effects) beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of the Unreal game engine or similar is advantageous.
  • A great understanding of a cinematic pipeline, in a game environment.
  • Not necessary, but desirably experience in 3DS Max and/or Maya user.
  • Excellent understanding of visual story telling skills.
  • Excellent animation skills.
  • Great understanding of cinematography.
  • Great understanding of staging, scene design and camera layout.
  • Great keyframe and motion editing skills.
  • Great understanding of the cinematic pipeline including scene layouts, motion capture, animation, camera work and editing.
  • Strong ability to self-manage time and bring cinematics in on time and to the desired quality level.
  • Motion capture acting ability beneficial, but not necessary.


  • To create and develop industry-leading cinematic scenes that support the narrative of the game.
  • To set up and develop cinematic scenes and animations from previs to final quality in the game engine (Unreal).
  • To work very closely with the Cinematic Lead to ensure scene content and direction is consistent and reaches the desired quality goals.
  • To work very closely with all neighbouring departments, specifically Script and Design to ensure the work being output is relevant and current at all times.
  • To support the motion capture process from rehearsals to final performance.
  • Be a solid example for non-Seniors to follow suit.
