Senior Character/Creature Artist – Fantasy Open World – Stockholm, Sweden

OPM’s client are looking for a talented Senior Character/Creature Artist to join a top-tier, experienced team to help craft cutting edge AAA open-world games.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating visually stunning, stylised characters and creatures for our clients upcoming AAA fantasy game set in an open world.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in Character Art for AAA video games.
• Strong understanding of stylised character design, mythical creature anatomy, and open-world design.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, proportion, and form.
• Strong knowledge of Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marvellous Designer, and other relevant software.
• A portfolio demonstrating stylised characters and creatures art skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to create visually stunning characters and creatures that perform well in open-world environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.

BENEFICIAL:

• 2D drawing and knowledge of Substance Designer
• Passion for creating high-quality, stylised fantasy open-world games

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create visually stunning, stylised characters and mythical creatures for an upcoming AAA stylised fantasy game.
• Work closely with the Art Director and other leads to establish the visual style of the characters and creatures.
• Collaborate with the animation team to ensure that creatures look believable, anatomically correct, and will work with our animation pipelines.
• Work with tech animation to ensure that the character anatomy is achieving the best deformation possible when animating.
• Lead and mentor junior character artists and manage the development of the character art team.
• Ensure that all characters and creatures are optimised for performance and memory usage.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and techniques.
