OPM’s client is looking for a Senior Character Artist to join their talented, passionate team on their upcoming release. The successful candidate will champion the creation of an array of in-game characters. Working closely with the Art Director they will model and texture a multitude of characters using the latest technologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Strong experience in the creation of AAA game character assets

· Expertise in creation of textures using PBR workflows

· Great experience with texture authoring tools such as Substance Painter

· Extensive professional experience as a Character Artist in the games industry

· Expertise with current 3D tools such as Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer or equivalent

· Deep knowledge and understanding of anatomy and art fundamentals

· Strong communication skills with the capability to successfully work across multiple teams

· A positive collaborative and professional working attitude

· Strong written and verbal English skills

· Ability to work in Edinburgh, Scotland

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaborate with the Lead Character Artist to generate high quality, high resolution 3D characters including clothing variations and props

· Make sure assets conform to the defined technical and artistic requirements

· Generate best practice assets to serve as guidance to other team members

· Become heavily involved with outsource quality control to help populate the world with AAA characters

· Integrate scanned data into a sculpt-based workflow

· Collaborate with production staff to manage personal deliverables, ensuring they meet the defined objectives, defined quality bar, and schedule

· Iterate on 3D content with in-house and external 3D artists

· Mentor junior character artists

· Maintain quality and consistency across your work to meet objectives, quality bar, and schedule

· Apply feedback from Lead Character Artist

· Implement and review final characters in the game engine
