I am pleased to be working with one of the world’s leading independent video game developers who develop both Licenced IPs and their own products for console, handheld devices and mobile platforms. They are looking for a Senior Backend Programmer to join their successful UK studio, as a member of the Live OPS team.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in back end development preferably in game development
• Experience developing over Google Firebase, Big Query and other Google services using node.js and Expressjs
• Proficient in multiple programming languages including, SQL, Go, Javascript and Typescript
• Proficient in multipe build and deployment systems including, Teamcity, Docker, AWS, GCP and Kubernetes
• Proficient in multiple database management including, S3, DynamoDB, RDBMS, Redis
• Able to write clear, maintainable, portable code
• Familiarity with source controls systems, Perforce and git
• Degree in Computer Science or related field

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop and maintain their backend solution built on top of Firebase using various Google and Amazon cloud services.
• Produce technical solutions for online and back-end features.
• Integrate the backend solution into their current and future games developed in Unity

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience in developing for backend systems of mobile applications
• Experience in developing data aggregation and analytics platforms
• Network, Machine learning, multiplayer, A/B testing programming experience
• Working knowledge with Unity Engine
• Able to work in an iterative and agile production process
• Passion for mobile and free-to-play games
