Project: Action-Adventure Game

Our client is a rapidly expanding UK developer with many high-end games in development across multiple genres! We are looking for a Senior Animator to join production on an upcoming blockbuster action-adventure game. In this role you will work closely with the Lead Animator, Art Director and Game Director to create a variety of game animations, working from the initial levels of grey block to final polish for release.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in a relevant role with a minimum of one game shipped
• Strong technical expertise and ability to problem solve
• Expertise with Maya
• Background with UE4 blueprints, animation graphs or similar networks desirable
• Great keyframe animation skills that demonstrate excellent body mechanics, weight, and timing
• In-depth understanding of human and animal movement, spatial awareness, and ability to adapt to different animation styles

RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Set standards for animation team to deliver world class animation
• Collaborate with key project stakeholders such as the Game Director and Animation Lead to ensure game vision is well executed
• Mentoring and training members of the animation team
• Work closely with Technical Animators to develop and improve workflows
• Work closely with character team to ensure their models are ready for rigging

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine or a proprietary engine
• Experience integrating animation from Maya to UE4
• Understanding of Motion Builder
• Experience working with motion capture data and pipelines
