Senior Animator – Netherlands – Permanent Contract – VR Games

This studio in the heart of Amsterdam are one of the world’s largest VR and AR studios and they are looking for a Senior Animator to join and their fantastic team to work on many exciting VR and AR projects.

As a 3D Animator, you will breathe life into their worlds by creating animations for characters (human and non-human), weapons, vehicles and objects, as well as special events, scripted sequences and cut-scenes.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3D Animation demo reel demonstrating excellent keyframe animations, MOCAP is a bonus
• Games industry experience as a Senior Animator or Lead
• Supervising and mentoring animators
• Proficiency in Maya and its animation tools
• Experience doing high quality 3D animations, such as characters, animals, robots and sequences
• An excellent understanding of (body) motion, physics, IK and FK
• A keen eye for movement, squash and stretch, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mentoring a team of 2 3D Animators
• Define animation style in collaboration with Art Director and Lead Artist
• Set up an animation pipeline and teach other artists how to use it
• Create animations within technical, creative and time constraints
• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver game-engine ready assets
• Build motion/blend trees in the game engine (Unity and/or UE4)
