Senior AI Programmer – C++/Unreal Engine – FPS Game – 4 Day Week Onsite Midlands, UK

One Player Mission’s client has grown from Indie Developer to AAA, with exciting new IP’s and projects with partners in development they are expanding their programming team. They are looking for an experienced Senior AI who specialises in Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5 to join their Multiplayer All Out Warfare Shooter

In this highly collaborative role, you will develop AI features and systems from the ground up. You will contribute to the programming team’s collective knowledge and help to architect, plan and troubleshoot development, in order to deliver on the high-level vision for the game.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and implement advanced AI systems for a large multiplayer first-person shooter environment.
• Collaborate closely with designers to understand AI requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Create behaviour trees, state machines, and other AI architectures to model believable and intelligent character behaviours.
• Debug and resolve AI-related issues and provide technical support to the design and QA teams.
• Stay updated with the latest AI techniques, algorithms, and industry trends to continually improve the quality of AI in their games.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong proficiency using C++ with Unreal Engine
• A strong understanding of behavioural & navigation techniques used in modern games.
• A strong interest in researching and implementing new AI related technologies.
• Experience working closely with design teams and leadership to elicit requirements and help shape great AI-driven game experiences.
• Experience optimizing AI performance and memory usage.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• Meticulous approach to systems design.
• Experience building AI systems for multiplayer games.
• Experience with machine learning techniques and frameworks.
• Familiarity of AI integration with animation systems.-
