OPM are excited to be working with this AAA games company. The original studios were founded in 2003 and develops games using its proprietary technology, enabling huge open worlds filled with emergent gameplay. They have recently opened their third studio in the beautiful Malmö, Sweden. The Malmö studio will focus on development of current and future IPs, relatively small and flexible projects which rest on a solid foundation of AAA production values.

They are now looking for an experienced and highly talented physics programmer to help bring life, realism and fun into their next explosive open world multiplayer game. This is an exciting opportunity to develop cutting-edge physics and collision systems and use them in creative and novel ways, working together with other departments to solve physics, animation and AI problems. You will iterate toward the perfect blend of realism and fun gameplay and use your math skills to optimize, simplify and extend our engine.

The Malmo studio is composed of a small and senior team where you will be the physics domain expert. They have a history and a tradition of pushing physics, destruction and interactivity in their games and in this role you will be depended on for your expertise and knowledge. In return they offer all the support you need as well as creative freedom and autonomy to pursue the technical solutions you believe are the best.

Required Skills:

  • Strong C/C++ coding skills
  • Prior experience authoring and extending physics systems for a shipped game title on current generation console
  • Experience working with game physics in a multiplayer title
  • Experience of low level optimisations and fixing stability issues.
  • Outstanding math skills (linear algebra, matrix/quaternion math)
  • Strong multi-threaded programming skills
  • Physics/mathematics/computer science degree
  • Assembly and SIMD programming experience desirable
  • Passion for playing and making games
