Are you an experienced Level Designer with a broad knowledge of 3D level editing and scripting systems who loves to work on exciting 3rd person action/adventure titles? Then this could be the job for you?


What’s The Opportunity?

My client is looking for a Level Designer to be part of their creative team and work on ambitious PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC games. This is a full-time position based in their office in France which involves working in an international environment. As Level Designer, you will:

  • Drive level design creation and ensure that the execution reflects the vision of the game and exploits its mechanics.
  • Elaborate amazing Level Design blending core game mechanics in varied and exciting ways.
  • Be responsible of specific level from greybox to release, ensure that those levels follow the high-level design direction.
  • Layout the game levels and script events to create unforgettable experiences, carefully crafting the pace whilst balancing progression, challenge and reward.
  • Ensure your scripts and game logic are debugged as you develop.
  • Work closely with Level Artist and production team to deliver the milestone on-time.

Having worked on 6 of the top 10 next-gen console games, my client offers game production services (3D art, animation and full game development) to clients across console, mobile and PC game companies.


What Do I Need?

In order to be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in Level Design roles (shipped at least 1 successful console game in this position).
  • Experience of using 3D Level Editors and Scripting systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of the game industry, great communication skills and an ability to work with both a core team of senior talents and a remote production team.
  • Capacity to understand creative direction of the game and extend it inside level creation.
  • Comfortable working within a fast moving, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Passionate about games, art, design and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work with remote teams.
  • Good working knowledge of English.
