A well-loved studio based in the North West are seeking a talented DevOps Programmer to join our Mech DevOps team. Their games are huge and changing rapidly, with hundreds of code commits and gigabytes of asset changes per day.

The right candidate for this job will have a passion for games and an understanding of the important role automated testing and continuous integration can play in raising the quality bar for their award-winning series.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement changes to game code to make it amenable to automated play through and general testing.
  • Develop and maintain test harness software which will run the game, gather data and provide detail outcome reports in various formats.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve existing continuous integration processes such as compiling and distributing the game and tools, monitoring and reporting on compilation times, etc…

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong C++ skills.
  • Proficient in Python.
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Experience using continuous integration systems like TeamCity or Jenkins.
  • Basic experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (for maintaining reporting front-end)
  • Basic database experience (SQL, Elasticsearch).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Experience with CI tools such as puppet, ansible, docker.
  • Familiar with at least one build system e.g. makefiles, jam, gradle, ant…
  • Exceptional eye for detail and drive for quality.
