Project: AAA Narrative Adventure Games


OPM’s client is rapidly growing with many high-end games in development across multiple genres including Narrative Adventure and Action Shooter titles.

They are a team of professional, friendly developers who form a world class studio staffed with excited, passionate creators who love to collaborate across varied, inspiring, and challenging games.

The successful candidate will join development on an ambitious AAA, story driven title for next gen.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience as a Lighting Artist, or comparable position, on at least one PC or Console games.
  • Great understanding of lighting principles and composition.
  • Great understanding of colour theory.
  • Great understanding and experience of baked and real-time lighting techniques.
  • Great understanding of cinematography principles and workflows.
  • Great understanding of PBR workflows and processes.
  • Great understanding of the fundamentals of post processing and tone mapping.
  • Experience with UE4 or a proprietary engine.
  • Experience with Material/shader creation.
  • Experienced with using Maya or Max.
  • Experienced with Realtime and offline rendering.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Working with the lead lighting artist and team to help maintain and build the lighting pipelines.
  • Create ideas and work together with team members to bring fresh ideas to fruition.
  • To be able to understand and interpret a storyboard and bring a scene to life.
  • Build and create compelling lighting schemes that will compliment and strengthen the visual narrative and tone.
  • Develop and create exciting and atmospheric lighting passes and bring the cinematics to life.
  • Ensure consistency across the lighting of the game and cinematics pipelines.
  • Bring your own ideas to the team and help to improve workflows and processes.
  • Work with the lighting team and leads to ensure the creative vision is consistent across shots, scenes, and the title.

DESIRED SKILLS (good to have):

  • Knowledge of Maya pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Knowledge of C#.
  • Understanding of animation pipelines.
  • Rendering skills with shaders, mesh deformation, etc.
