Level Design Director – AAA Game – Montreal or Remote – Permanent

OPM’s client is a leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, US, and Canada, and from all over the world
The successful candidate will have a chance to perfect their craft and expand their knowledge, working alongside leaders in the industry on bringing a brand-new unique experience to the players worldwide.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Vast experience in Level Design, both in practice and theory. (Chokepoints, routes, lines of sight, engagement distances)

· Previous experience of professional level design experience including leading a Level Design team.

· Experience working in a AAA shooter title.

· Previously shipped multiple AAA games on PC or Console.

· Unreal Engine experience.

· Ability to process, understand and implement feedback.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

· Manage the entire level design team.

· Work alongside the Creative Director to iterate, implement and execute on key design and level building principles.

· Create levels and iterate through playtesting and providing/implementing feedback.

· Work with the art team to make sure the levels are up to the highest visual quality.

· Take full level ownership – from paper design through to whitebox phase, scripting and debugging.

· Provide mentorship assistance to members of the Level Design team.

· Proactively identify cross-discipline challenges and risks to the project and offer solutions.
