Located in the London borough of Bromley, our client is all about crafting the world’s most engaging multiplayer experiences. They are growing the studio for exciting new projects on PC and console, and are looking for a talented and passionate Core Tech Engineer to help create them.

The studio are well known for their multiplayer combat games that champion team play and are now looking for a Lead UI Programmer to establish, drive and own the technical design and implementation of the user interface.

You will create project roadmaps for UI code and plan sprints for your team, effectively prioritising work to make ideal use of each team member’s skills. Drawing upon your experience in UI development you will share knowledge with your team to create performant and robust data-driven interfaces that respect the core technical pillars of a project.  You will work closely with other disciplines and are not afraid to dive into hands-on work when necessary.

As Lead UI Programmers you will be trusted with a large degree of autonomy throughout the development cycle, and put the needs of your team over your own.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong leadership skills, an enthusiastic attitude and team-first mentality.
  • Proven technical UI leadership experience for at least one commercial project and led a UI team from concepting through to ship and support.
  • Expert knowledge of C++, with relevant professional experience.
  • Practical UI implementation knowledge
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; you’re able to present ideas clearly and confidently to audiences of all experience levels.
  • Previous experience in a Senior or Lead role in game development.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 and Unreal Motion Graphics (UMG)
  • Multi-platform and console development experience advantageous.
  • Experience with localisation pipelines desirable.
  • A real passion for games UI and clear enthusiasm for playing games
