Lead Technical Artist – REMOTE or Hybrid – Berlin, Germany – AAA Games

One Player Missions client is looking for a Lead Technical Artist to join their creative team. They have a history of developing immersive online action games, focusing on social emergent gameplay and creating rich game worlds!

You’ll oversee the technical art department, guiding and mentoring a team in the development of advanced and unique game content. The role involves close collaboration with other department leads to realise the project’s creative vision, maintaining technical documentation, and establishing performance benchmarks.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience as a Technical Artist in video games development.
• Established experience in a leadership role, managing a team on at least one shipped title.
• Deep understanding and professional experience with Unreal Engine.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 
• Substantial experience with 3D and 2D content creation tools. 
• Able to work harmoniously with a diverse team and handle the tensions inherent in creative undertakings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Artists.
• Oversee art pipelines, tools, workflows, and validation processes.
• Collaborate with other department leads to achieve the creative vision.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for standards, pipelines and processes.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to team members.
• Establish and guide the team towards qualitative and performance benchmarks.
• Innovate in solving complex technical art challenges.
