OPM’s client, a leading AAA Game Development Studio in the heart of London, is looking for an exceptionally talented Lead Scriptwriter who is ready for the challenge of producing a AAA title on the next generation platforms.
The Lead Scriptwriter will be a member of the in-house writing team, working closely with the Creative Director, design and audio teams. The ideal candidate must be able to write exceptional character dialogue, develop compelling storylines, and be involved with these components from conception to reviewing in the final game.
Responsibilities:
- Write compelling dialogue and narrative content
- Work closely with the writing team and Creative Director to develop overall narrative and character arcs
- Provide insightful, constructive feedback to other writers
- Pitch/communicate new ideas, concepts and stories
- Collaborate with other disciplines to develop, refine and implement dialogue and narrative content
Requirements:
- Professional experience writing creatively for games, ideally at a AAA level
- Design or scriptwriting experience on at least one shipped title is essential
- Strong writing, character and plot development skills
- A flair for writing dialogue
- Ability to think both creatively and logically
- Willing to accept and provide constructive feedback and work through multiple iterations
- Passion for gaming, with excellent design insights across genres
- Broad knowledge of comics, novels, games, cinema, and popular culture relating to video games
