OPM are excited to be working with one of the UK’s most prolific independent game developers, with multiple UK studios and many fantastic new opportunities on the horizon. This successful developer has had a string of successful titles across all gaming platforms for partners that include Microsoft, SEGA, Sony and many more. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and talented Build Engineer to join their team in Sheffield.

As a Lead Graphics Programmer, you'll design, develop and maintain efficient and feature rich graphics pipelines in collaboration with the Technical Artists, Project Leadership and the wider team to efficiently achieve project technical and creative goals. You’ll contribute to the creation, execution and refinement of realistic plans, communicating progress and impediments as they arise, troubleshooting as needed. You’ll disseminate work amongst the team and leverage external support as required, proactively reflecting on progress and providing and encouraging feedback to yield continuous improvement. You’ll also champion and embrace graphics and engineering best practices to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery of graphics technology to achieve project milestone commitments.



  • Proven and respected technical leadership experience with a pragmatic, can-do attitude and a history of success on significant projects;
  • Outstanding cross-discipline communication, able to inspire and guide teams and colleagues and maintain the technical facet of client relationships;
  • Broad and deep contemporary knowledge of graphics pipelines for PC and console platforms;
  • In-depth experience of modern low-level graphics APIs such as DirectX 12 and Vulkan and shader programming/optimisation;
  • Expert knowledge of C++ and shader languages;
  • Aptitude for exploiting multi-processor architectures;
  • A broad array of GPU profiling and optimisation techniques;
  • Goal orientated, proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving;
  • Outstanding 3D math skills;
  • Proficiency in debugging;
  • Great attention to detail and overall quality
  • Passion for games and game technology.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related subject;
  • Hands-on experience of commercial game engines such as UE4 and Unity;
  • Knowledge of content creation tools such as Maya, 3DSMax, etc;
  • Experience of scripting languages such as Python and Mel;
