OPM’s client is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Game Designer to join their passionate team.

The successful candidate will have a rare opportunity to shape a major game from in inception through the entire development process.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Finished at least one end to end game development cycle.
  • Display experience of having led and managed a team of designers.
  • Expertise in a range of design tools and game engines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizing, managing and guiding the work of the game design team.
  • Working closely with Head of Creative, Designers, Programmers and Producers to deliver a shared creative vision.
  • Understanding and enhancing the game design over the lifetime of the project.
  • Preserving style guides and consistent gameplay languages across the game.
  • Communicating with other disciplines to synchronise design with all areas of the development process.
  • Become a mentor and role model for the design team.
  • Inspiring an atmosphere of collective creativity and enthusiasm within the whole team

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and a strong knowledge of any applicable tools.
  • Background or demonstrable knowledge of sports game design and team AI design.
  • Experience or demonstrable knowledge of ‘Games as a service’ design demands.
