Lead Environment Artist – Huge AAA Project, Brand new IP – Leamington Spa, UK

One Player Missions client is looking for a Lead Environment Artist to join their talented Art team. They are a new studio with a strong pedigree of talent, aimed at creating best-in-class AAA games.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Art Director, ensuring the highest quality of visuals for the in-game environments. This role balances hands-on work with leading others, requiring adaptability and a keen eye for detail and composition. 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience shipping one or more games as a Lead Environment Artist.
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a team.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities.
• Impressive portfolio showcasing recent Environment Art.
• In-depth understanding of shape, form, and composition.
• Proficiency in 3D industry-standard tools (e.g., Maya, 3DSMax, Blender).
• Skilled in surfacing tools like Photoshop and Substance Painter.
• Proven ability to produce optimized 3D assets for games.

DESIRABLE:

• Experience in Unreal Engine
• A mixture of hard surface and foliage asset modelling experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate closely with various disciplines to support team efforts.
• Work with Technical Artists and Developers for efficient pipelines and processes.
• Involved in planning and budgeting to ensure feasibility across platforms.
