Lead Concept Artist – AAA Games Project – Montreal OR UK

OPM’s client are looking for an experienced, talented, and passionate Lead Concept Artist, a champion in the Art Team who will have a significant role in shaping the visual direction for a project. The successful candidate will help establish and convey the Art Director's vision through a wide array of concept art, key art & style guides produced by the team of artists.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in the production of games for consoles and PC
• Minimum of 1 project in the portfolio as Lead Concept Artist
• Strong experience in leading/coordinating work of an Artist team
• Exceptional portfolio that demonstrates a strong artistic skill
• Knowledge of various 3d game-development technical aspects
• Knowledge of: Photoshop (or equivalent of 2d software), Zbrush, 3d software, like Maya, 3ds Max
• Understanding of current standards and techniques of creating AAA games on PCs and consoles
• Familiarity in team management and mentoring
• Superb English language skills
• Passion for Games

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervising talents of Concept Art team to achieve best possible result for the project and personal growth of team members
• Leading a team of concept artists
• Delivering day-to-day feedback and creatively solve problems
• Understanding and evangelizing the visual style of the game
• Review and provide feedback on work produced by external artists
• Cooperating with artists, designers, and other disciplines to create engaging concepts
• Performing consistent performance and compensation reviews of staff members
• Collaborate with a team to achieve defined art direction
• Working closely with production team on tasks assignment and a team schedule
• Considering the gameplay implications of the design and the overall player experience
• Performing recruitment projects with HR collaboration
• Occasionally supporting the hiring team in recruitment process

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Unreal Engine 4 experience
