One Player Missions Client are looking for a talented lead character Artist. The client are an exciting independent video game company located in Toronto, Canada. Best known for their multi-million-copy selling Chivalry franchise, passion and innovation are the core elements of everything they do.
Responsibilities
- Organize, plan and lead the character art team
- Continue to personally produce high-quality realistically grounded art on a daily basis
- Establishing a quality bar that supports direction for other artists on the team and being responsible for the team’s ability to execute and reach consistent quality bar
- Execute creatively, versed with Art Direction high level principals and creative guidelines
- Partner and work with Art Director, concept team and other key stakeholders tied to characters and related features
Requirements
- An exceptional portfolio of work that exemplifies the creation of high-quality realistically relatable characters, costumes and accessories
- 6+ years of professional game development experience
- At least 2 shipped titles
- Experience leading a character art team.
- Expert knowledge of game character development processes, from modeling and sculpting to retopo, baking, uvs, texturing, materials etc
- Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide an in-depth critique backed with visual observation skills
- Creative problem solver
- Understanding of rigging and skinning for animation
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Personally motivated, constructive energy and approachable as a leader
Bonuses

- Familiarity working with version control (They use Perforce) and task-management software (They use Jira)
- Background in traditional art
