OPM are thrilled to working with a new client based in Lisbon, Portugal. This full-range development studio offers design, art, coding, and other services to game developers across the world!

They are now growing their team and are seeking a Lead Automation Test Engineer to join their team, developing an open-world multiplayer project.

The successful candidate will build, lead, and mentor the team of Automation Testing to accumulate and compile the data generated during the development process to provide support in improving the quality of the game.


  • Extensive professional programming experience in the gaming industry.
  • Experience writing automated tests and managing automation frameworks.
  • Understanding of C++, C#, and Python.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of game development cycles.
  • Experience leading, inspiring, and overseeing a team of software developers or programmers.
  • Great written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Passionate about gaming and games development.


  • Build out the Test Automation process and infrastructure.
  • Supervise, assess, and assist the Automation engineering team.
  • Help the team in constructing test cases, tracking down and follow up issues discovered.
  • Capture and analyse test results and document steps for reproducibility.
  • Collaborate with the tools team to maintain, update, and extend the automated testing framework.
  • Implement and maintain testing guidelines
  • Develop automated testing scripts.
  • Participate in code peer reviews to increase code quality, reliability & reusability for an automated test point of view.
  • Be sure that the best practices, development processes, and coding standards are followed by all team members.
  • Act as a mentor for new or junior software developers or programmers on the Automation engineering team.


  • Professional experience building levels with UE4, Unity or other large game engines.
  • Professional experience in the gaming industry.
  • Knowledge of the Agile methodology.
  • Professional experience with bug tracking software like Jira.
