OPMs client is a seeking an experienced Lead Animator to join their talented and expanding team. The successful candidate will join development on a brand new, exciting project and will help ensure the highest level of consistent quality throughout, with a focus on gameplay animation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive experience in character animation for games
  • Outstanding keyframe animation skills and a reel that showcases world leading animation quality in character, creature, combat animation etc.
  • Capability to work in a range of styles depending on project demands
  • Solid understanding of all areas of character creation (mesh, texturing, skinning, IK)
  • Familiarity with hand-keyed animation and motion capture pipelines
  • Familiarity setting up animation trees and animation blending
  • Expertise with Maya

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver games at AAA standard.
  • Produce and integrate world class combat and character animations in the game engine that seamlessly mix with the animations of other team members.
  • Work closely with the Animation Director to represent animation best practices and standards.
  • Work in partnership with the art director, technical artists, game designers and programmers to understand the quality objectives, game play intentions and engine capabilities to deliver on AAA quality.
  • Visually scripting animation graphs/ trees.
  • Creating quality animations within scheduling constraints.
  • Mentor and train animation team members.
  • Continuously evaluate animation workflow and recommend improvements.
  • Work in partnership with animation team to ensure building effective animation controls.
  • Develop new techniques and processes to solve character animation challenges.
