Junior Programmer – Mobile Games – Brighton UK

Location: Brighton Salary: Negotiable

Job ID: # Posted: 3 years ago

Travellers Tales

Our client consistently produces BAFTA award winning AAA game titles, selling well over 180 million copies to date across all the major formats. But underpinning the success of this company is their cutting-edge and propriety in-house game engine that’s constantly evolving to meet the ever increasing demands and challenges of the next generation of consoles.

They have now set up a mobile games studio in the south of the UK and are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Programmer to join their programming team in Brighton, on a 18 month fixed term contract initially. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a generalist to work on all aspects of their award winning games in a small team environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrably strong talent for programming game-play and mechanics
  • A good degree in Computer Science or related subject.
  • Fluent in one programming language, preferably C#, Objective-C or C++ with the aptitude and willingness to pick up new languages and APIs
  • You love an area of games technology or development which you can show you’ve gone deep into.
  • A highly motivated team-player with the ability to understand code and learn quickly.
  • Passion to make great games
  • Experience with Unity 3D or another C# game engine
  • Knowledge of multiple additional programming languages (e.g. C, Java, HLSL, Python, PHP, Javascript, Scala) is advantageous
  • Any professional programming experience is desirable but not essential
  • Please ensure you have a strong portfolio highlighting your best iOS, Android or other mobile development project.
