Project: AAA Game Studio

OPM have partnered with a major AAA Games Developer with studios in both Europe and North America. The most recent expansion of the group now boasts a studio in the North of the UK.

They are known for the high quality of their programming team and as such you would be working with some of the very best in the industry.

OPM’s client is looking for a talented Junior Gameplay Programmer to join development on their upcoming title. The successful applicant will collaborate with designers and fellow gameplay programmers to create missions, create complex gameplay mechanics and refine, tweak and balance gameplay.


  • Strong knowledge and understanding of C++.
  • Strong knowledge of debugging techniques.
  • Good instincts for what makes gameplay fun and engaging.
  • Experience with AI, physics and animation systems and techniques.
  • Mathematic skills
  • Superb communication skills – must possess excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability and desire to work in a team, often with different disciplines.


  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and refinement, e.g. Game Jams.
  • Background using middleware such as Havok Physics.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in AI e.g. behaviour trees.
  • Experience working in editor-supported engines, such as Unreal.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Background developing for consoles, or other limited resource environments.
