My client has been established in the games industry since 1997 making them one of the oldest and most experienced in India. They are a premier outsourcer to games developers around the world. Much of their work can be found in many of the top grossing console video games across many genres and across platforms.


As their Head of Character Art for their PC and Console games contracts, you will be responsible for creating high end AAA game characters, setting the quality benchmark and pipeline for the team to follow.



  • A link to your 3D Character Art portfolio
  • Experience in video games in a similar position
  • Have in-depth knowledge of basic and advanced technology, terminology and techniques of game art development, including awareness of design, animation and programming considerations.
  • Advanced understanding of PBR workflow, Substance, Max (or Maya), Z-brush or equivalent.
  • Advanced understanding of generating normal maps from high poly models.
  • Advanced understanding of complex node based shader networks such as those used in Unreal Engine 4
  • Strong foundation skills with the ability to work with detailed concept art, or reference art/ materials.
  • Expert knowledge of human and animal anatomy.
  • Ability to switch between stylised and photo-realistic styles.
  • Willingness to receive direction and work closely with a team.
  • Able to work unsupervised for long periods and able to supervise others.



  • Create low poly and high poly models.
  • Create texture/shader (colour, normal, specular, ambient occlusion, height, UV, and incandescent maps using 2D/3D application(s)
  • Reliable for the timely creation of 100% technically solid artwork.
  • Experiment with and/or evaluate techniques and/or art programs to improve efficiency, workflow, or pipeline contribution to game art/engine
  • Provide accurate task time estimates
  • Set the art quality and time benchmarks
  • Win test and pilots set by clients
