I am pleased to be working with one of the world’s leading independent video game developers who develop both Licenced IPs and their own products for console, handheld devices and mobile platforms. We are looking for a talented Games Analyst to join a multi-disciplined team based in Malta, working with world renowned publishers. The successful candidate will be specifically responsible for analysing data from live titles and working with the games team to identify areas for optimisation and improvement.
Key Responsibilities;
• Daily monitoring of game performance and core KPIs
• Performing regular deep-dive analyses to investigate player behaviour
• Managing your own workload and priorities to best serve the needs of the product – including using the data to identify those needs
• Designing and maintaining the game telemetry to accommodate new features and design changes
• Building gameplay, progression and balancing simulations to inform design decisions
• Working with the Project Leads and design team to optimise existing gameplay and drive the development of new features
• Reporting your results to company executives and the game team itself
• Sharing findings with Product team and studio management to ensure key insights can drive improvements across the organisation
Skills & Experience Requirements;
• A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or a related field
• Experience visualizing data and communicating results to an audience of varied disciplines and backgrounds
• Familiarity with SQL and its other variants (or other data or math related languages)
• A pragmatic mindset – able to strive for full statistical rigor while maintaining a practical, ROI focused approach
• Good working knowledge of game economies and game balance in general.
Desirable skills;
• The ideal candidate will also have experience with or exposure to at least one of the following skills and technologies –
• Experience working as analyst on at least one released F2P title, preferably mobile or with a mobile component
• A good balance of science and creativity
• A passion for mobile, free-to-play games
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Fast learner, adaptive to a highly changing business
• Able to work in an iterative and agile production process
