Our client is on the lookout for a tools programmer to help create award-winning games. This innovative studio is based in Cambridge UK, known as a hub of education and technology and boasts a wealth of beauty and history. They’re growing their tools team, so they can help their content creators to create more, faster. You’ll support and improve existing processes, as well as create new tools and workflows in conjunction with content creators, to push the quality of their games even higher.

Responsibilities:

• Support existing infrastructure and workflows
• Create new workflows and tools in conjunction with our content teams
• Make small modifications to the engine when necessary, while maintaining the ability to merge in future engine versions
• Share knowledge with team members and the wider studio
• Work to deadlines in a collaborative environment
• Maintain flexible working practices, showing the ability and willingness to adapt to various programming tasks according to the needs of the project

Essential Skills:

• Passionate about user-friendly tools design and implementation
• Professional programming experience in a similar or related role if applying for mid-level and above
• Education, or equivalent knowledge, to at least degree level in any relevant subject
• A good working knowledge of C++ and C#
• Able to collaborate with a wide range of disciplines

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Unreal Engine 4
• Additional language and tool experience (Python, Perforce, Jenkins, Maya script/API, etc)
• Ability to work well within large existing codebases
• An interest in, or enthusiasm for, machine learning
• Experience in concurrent systems, such as multi-threading or networking
